About
Grounded training for embodied practice
Casita Polarity Institute offers polarity cranial somatics education for students seeking rigorous, body-based learning in Portland, Oregon and Mexico. Our approach is calm, clinical, and deeply attentive to the intelligence of the body.
Our story
A place for careful study
Casita Polarity Institute was created to support meaningful training in polarity cranial somatics through disciplined study, embodied inquiry, and relational learning. We believe transformative education should be both experientially rich and professionally grounded.
Students come to deepen their understanding of touch, perception, and the body’s organizing principles. Our programs are designed to cultivate presence, skill, and ethical practice in ways that can be integrated into healing, education, and personal development.
Values
Clinical clarity, subtle depth
Our teaching environment balances anatomical awareness, somatic sensitivity, and reflective practice. The tone is steady and credible, while leaving room for the quieter dimensions of embodiment, intuition, and transformation.
We emphasize careful observation, respectful touch, and a learning process that supports both technical development and personal maturation. This creates a container where students can study deeply while remaining connected to lived experience.
Instructor Biography
Meet Your Instructor
This intensive is designed and led by a Registered Polarity Educator (RPE, 2019) who currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Polarity Therapy Association (APTA).
The instructor’s path began as a pastor’s kid of European settler ancestry, drawn in adolescence to esoteric studies, yoga, and fasting. In 1985, they entered the direct lineage of the early 1900s Chicago eclectic schools and later spent two years living at the historic Murrieta Hot Springs resort through the Alive Polarity Fellowship. There, they completed more than 3,360 hours of immersive, experiential study in Polarity diet, exercise, bodywork, and counseling, while also helping care for Pierre Pannatier, Dr. Randolph Stone’s chosen successor, in his final days.
After raising three children rooted in these holistic principles, they went on to bridge this traditional lineage with modern somatic breakthroughs. Training directly with Anna and John Chitty at the Colorado School of Energy Studies, they integrated neuroscience, embryology, and the shock and trauma resolution models of Franklyn Sills and Peter Levine, earning both BCST and RCST credentials.
Clinical and academic foundation
- LMT and BCMBT (Board Certification) from East-West College of the Healing Arts.
- Advanced studies in myology and Shiatsu in New York.
- Two intensive Pre- and Perinatal somatic psychology trainings with Ray Castellino, Anna Chitty, and Kate White.
- A recent BS in Social Sciences with a minor in Native American Studies from Portland State University, informed by more than a decade of grassroots, cross-cultural peer counseling and a commitment to gentle decolonization.
Teaching since 2005 and currently treating hundreds of clinical clients each month, the instructor brings a rare depth of storytelling, ancestral awareness, and clinical mastery to the classroom.
